Project Description

The City of Arlington will be continuing to upgrade its waterlines and resurface roadways in Arlington during 2025.  This project will include replacement of old waterlines followed by repaving of selected roadways, as well as updates to ADA pedestrian crossing ramps.

May 22, 2025 - Bid Opening

June 2, 2025 - Project awarded to Reece Construction Company

July 3, 2025 - The City of Arlington is continuing to upgrade its utilities and roads in the Arlington area with the annual Utility and Pavement Preservation Program (UPP). This year’s project was recently awarded to Reece Construction Company. The 2025 Utility Improvement & Pavement Preservation Project will include replacement of old waterlines along 64th Dr NE and resurfacing on Gleneagle Blvd, West Ave from Division St. to Lebanon St., 68th Dr NE, and 1st St from Olympic Ave to French Ave.  The Transportation Benefit District and the City of Arlington’s Water/Sewer/Storm Departments provide funding for this project. Next week, work will begin on 64th Dr NE with the water main replacement. Work will include mobilization, potholing of underground utilities, and pipe installation. Construction will occur Monday – Friday between the construction hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Local access traffic will be allowed during construction for people that live on 64th Dr NE. Please use alternate routes if able and expect delays to your travel times if driving through the construction area during these hours. Please remember to drive slowly in construction zones when workers and equipment are present for the safety of all in the area.

July 11, 2025 - Work began this week on the 2025 Utility Improvement & Pavement Preservation Project. Construction occurred Monday – Friday on 64th Dr NE and included, mobilization, potholing for underground utilities, installation of the new 8” water main, stormwater catch basin installation, demolition of ADA ramps, and installation of fire hydrants. Next week, work will continue on 64th Dr NE with the installation of the new 8” water main, water service connections, testing of the new water lines on 64th Dr off of 208th St, and installation of fire hydrants. Construction will occur Monday – Friday between the construction hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Local access traffic will be allowed during construction for people that live on 64th Dr NE. There will be single lane closures with flaggers to control traffic. Please use alternate routes if able and expect delays to your travel times if driving through the construction area during these hours.

July 18, 2025 - Work continued this week on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project with the installation of the new 8” water main on 64th Dr off Cemetery Rd, water service connections, testing of the new water lines on 64th Dr off 208th St, and installation of a fire hydrant. Next week construction will occur Monday – Friday between the construction hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Work will include water tie-ins on 64th Dr off 208th St, decommissioning of the old water main, and testing, flushing, and sampling of the new water main on 64th Dr off Cemetery Rd.  Local access traffic will be allowed during construction for people that live on 64th Dr NE. There will be single lane closures with flaggers to control traffic. Please use alternate routes if able and expect delays to your travel times if driving through the construction area during these hours.

July 23, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project with flushing and testing of the new water line on 64th Dr off of Cemetery Rd, water service connections on 64th Dr off 208th St, stormwater repair, decommissioning of the old water line, demolition of ADA ramps on Gleneagle Blvd, pouring of new curb, and grading for new ADA ramps on Gleneagle Blvd. Next week construction will occur Monday – Friday between the construction hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work will include water tie-ins on 64th Dr off Cemetery Rd, ADA ramp reconstruction on Gleneagle Blvd, and demolition of ADA ramps on 1st St.   Please use alternate routes if able and expect delays to your travel times if driving through the construction area during these hours.

August 8, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project on 64th Dr., on Gleneagle Blvd and on West Ave. Work included water tie-ins, installation of a fire hydrant and cleanup on 64th Dr off Cemetery Rd., installation of curb and gutter on Gleneagle Blvd, and saw cutting of ADA ramps on West Ave. No work is scheduled next week due to scheduling conflicts.

August 15, 2025 - No work was completed on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project Monday – Thursday this week due to scheduling conflicts. Friday work continued on Gleneagle Blvd with ADA curb ramp grading. Next week work is scheduled to continue Monday – Thursday between the construction hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work will include pouring of the new ADA curb ramps on Gleneagle Blvd, demolition of curb ramps and stormwater inlet relocation on 1st St. at the MacLeod Ave. Intersection, and grinding and paving of the roadway on 64th Dr NE off of Cemetery Rd. Temporary ADA ramps will be in place for pedestrians on 1st St and MacLeod Ave.   

August 22, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project Monday – Friday. Work included pouring of the new ADA curb ramps on Gleneagle Blvd, demolition and reconstruction of curb ramps and stormwater inlet relocation on 1st St. at the Dunham Ave. Intersection, and grinding and paving of the roadway on 64th Dr NE off Cemetery Rd. Next week work is scheduled to continue Monday – Thursday between the construction hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work will include grinding of the roadway and final paving on 64th DR off 208th St and 68th St., along with demolition and reconstruction of curb ramps and stormwater inlet relocation on 1st St at the MacLeod Ave intersection. Temporary ADA ramps will be in place for pedestrians on 1st St and MacLeod Ave until new ramps are open.   

August 29, 2025 - Work continued this week on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project Monday – Friday. Work included grinding of the roadway and final paving on 64th DR off 208th St, pouring of concrete ADA ramps on Gleneagle Blvd, as well as reconstruction of curb ramps and stormwater inlet relocation on 1st St at the Dunham Ave intersection. Next week work will include paving of the roadway on 68th St.

September 5, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project Tuesday – Friday. Work included grinding of the roadway and final paving on 68th St, the reconstruction of curb ramps and stormwater inlet relocation on 1st St at the Dunham Ave intersection. Next week work is scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work scheduled to occur includes grinding and base lift on Gleneagle Blvd., reconstruction of stormwater inlet on 1st St and MacLeod Ave., demolition and installation of old ADA curb ramps at 1st St and MacLeod, and demolition and reconstruction of curb ramps and curb on West Ave. All concrete and paving work is weather dependent.

September 12, 2025 - Work continued this week on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project Monday – Friday. Work included reconstruction of stormwater inlets on 1st St and MacLeod Ave., demolition and installation of ADA curb ramps at 1st St and MacLeod, demolition of curb ramps and curb on West Ave, and installation of new curb on West Ave. Next week work is scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work scheduled to occur includes grading of curb ramps, continued installation of curb, and installation of ADA ramps on West Ave, along with restoration of areas around the curb ramps on 1st Street and Gleneagle Blvd.  All concrete work is weather dependent.

September 19, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project Monday – Friday. Work included demolition and reconstruction of curb ramps and curb on West Ave. Next week work is scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work scheduled to include restoration, grinding of Gleneagle Blvd pending rainy weather, and grinding and paving of 1st St between Olympic Ave and Dunham Ave.  1st St will be closed to traffic from Olympic Ave to French St on Tuesday and Wednesday for the completion of this work. This work is weather dependent. Please use alternate routes if needing to access this area.  

September 26, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project Monday – Friday. Work included grinding and paving of 1st St between Olympic Ave and French Ave., Grinding on Gleneagle Blvd, lowering of iron on West Ave., and restoration.  Next week work is scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Scheduled work is to include grinding and paving of West Ave, and paving of Gleneagle Blvd. Grinding and paving on West Ave will be single lane travel with flagger-controlled traffic. Grinding on West Ave is scheduled for Monday & Tuesday and paving is currently scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Paving on Gleneagle Blvd is scheduled for Friday. All paving work is weather dependent. Businesses are open and running as normal, please expect short delays to your travel times when driving in this area.  

October 10, 2025 - Work continued this week on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project Monday –Thursday. Work included paving of West Ave and Gleneagle Blvd, and iron raising. Next week work is scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work is scheduled to include continued paving on Gleneagle Blvd, raising iron on West Ave and Gleneagle Blvd, and possible striping. Striping and paving are weather dependent.

October 17, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project with the completion of the paving of Gleneagle Blvd. Next week work is scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work is scheduled to include tentative iron raising on West Ave., depending on weather. This work will have flaggers to control traffic.

October 24, 2025 - Work continued this week on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project with iron raising on West Ave and project restoration. Next week work is scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work is scheduled to include continued iron raising, project restoration, and possible striping in all project areas. Striping will be dependent on weather.

October 31, 2025 - This week on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project work continued with iron raising on West Ave and 1st St, along with installation of permanent striping on West Ave. Next week work is scheduled Wednesday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work is scheduled to include continued iron raising on Gleneagle Blvd, 64th Dr, and 68th Dr. Iron raising will be dependent on rainy weather. 

November 5, 2025 - Restoration work began this week on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project. Next week work is scheduled Monday – Friday minus the holiday on Tuesday, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work is scheduled to include continued iron raising on Gleneagle Blvd, and West Ave, along with continued project restoration in all areas of the project. 

November 14, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project with iron raising. Next week work is scheduled Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work will include continued iron raising on Gleneagle Blvd and West Ave, installation of permanent striping (weather dependent), and continued project restoration in all areas of the project. 

November 21, 2025 - Work continued this week on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project with iron raising and restoration. Next week work is scheduled Monday & Tuesday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work will include continued iron raising and restoration throughout the project area.  

November 26, 2025 - Work continued this week on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project with iron raising and restoration. Next week work is scheduled Monday- Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Work will include continued iron raising and restoration throughout the project area.  

December 5, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project with striping when weather allowed, iron raising and restoration. Next week work is scheduled Monday- Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM and will include continued iron raising and restoration throughout the project area.  

December 12, 2025 - This week work continued on the 2025 Utility Improvement and Pavement Preservation project with punch list items and restoration. Next week work is scheduled to include continued project restoration and punch list items throughout the project area.  

January 2, 2026 - Punchlist and area restoration is scheduled to be completed as weather permits.
