180th Street Connector

Project Description

The City has received funding for the design of a two-lane roadway from the 180th St/Smokey Point Blvd intersection east to Airport Blvd. This project includes a multi-use trail on the north side and a sidewalk on the south side with a roundabout at the intersection of 180th St/Airport Blvd. The City will be reaching out to the community to solicit input and feedback on the design of this roadway.  Design work will be starting in late fall 2023, the 180th St. Connector project continues the City’s goal to develop of a multimodal transportation grid-network in the Smokey Point area. To become involved with the design and planning of this project, please contact the City at cityprojects@arlingtonwa.gov to be added to the project email list.

In August, the City hosted two Open House events for the 180th Street Connector project. This project is in the beginning stages of the design process of a two-lane roadway from the 180th St/ Smokey Point Blvd intersection east to Airport Blvd. The project will include a multi-use trail, a roundabout at the intersection of 180th St/Airport Blvd, street and pedestrian lighting, along with landscaping and street amenities. From those events the City took the public’s feedback and worked with the designer to come up with three roadway alignments.
