- SR-531 (172nd Street NE) Widening: In July 2019, WSDOT began designing the widening of SR-531 to four lanes between 43rd Avenue NE and 67th Avenue NE. SR-531.
March 2024: Due to staffing shortages, WSDOT has hired HNTB Corporation, a large national consulting firm, to assist with bringing this project to 30% design level. Once at 30% design, the project will be advertised as a design-build project. This project will likely be constructed in phases by roundabouts and linking roadway segments (43rd to 51st, 51st to 59th, and 59th to 67th).
