Food Truck Permitting
An Administrative Conditional Use Permit (ACUP) and approved Food Truck Fire Inspection Checklist is required for any food truck vendor that would like to conduct business within city limits.
We encourage applicants to apply for the ACUP online using the Public Portal, although we do accept applications in-person at our office located at 18204 59th Ave NE, Arlington, WA 98223. Once your complete application has been submitted one of our Permit Technicians will contact you with further instructions.
- Administrative Conditional Use Permit Cost: $205.00
In addition to the ACUP checklist items above, proof of an approved Food Truck Fire Inspection shall be required. If you already have one of the following approved Food Truck Inspection Checklists (must be current) a City of Arlington Food Truck Inspection is not required. You may submit the approved checklist with the ACUP submittal documents:
- Approved Washington State Association of Fire Marshals Food Truck Inspection Checklist
- Approved Regional Fire Marshals Mobile Food Preparation Vehicle Inspection Checklist
If you need to obtain a fire inspection via the City of Arlington Food Truck Inspection Program, please complete the Vehicle and Operator Information section of the Arlington Food Truck Inspection Program Checklist (linked below) and submit along with the ACUP documentation. When the ACUP application submittal is processed one of our Permit Technicians will work with you to get the fire inspection scheduled.
Please note:
- If you are applying to conduct business at the Food Truck Court site, scheduling for your food truck at the site will not occur until an approved ACUP permit and fire inspection has been issued.
- Upon submittal and preliminary review of the ACUP application the City may allow preliminary approval to operate at the desired site or at the Food Truck Court.
- If you have any of the ACUP checklist items existing and that are current, you only need to submit proof of those items with the application. (ex. You do not need to obtain another Fire Inspection if you provide proof of a valid, current inspection from the approved inspection types listed in the above paragraph.)
- The ACUP and approved fire inspection require yearly renewal.
- It is your responsibility to maintain a current approved Fire Inspection Checklist and provide the most recent copy to us.
