Parks Maintenance

Facilities

The Parks Maintenance Department currently maintains:

  • 17 parks that total approximately 183 acres
  • 3 athletic field complexes that consist of soccer, baseball and softball fields
  • 8 trail that cover 8 miles and several open space and beautification landscape areas
  • Arlington Municipal Cemetery
  • Arlington Skate Park

Responsibilities

Maintenance staff is responsible for the following:

  • Daily cleaning all parks, restrooms and shelters, as well as needed repairs
  • Maintenance and installation of all Park amenities and play ground equipment
  • Weekly safety inspections, community event and volunteer project support
  • Trash and litter collection
  • Installing and maintaining irrigation systems
  • Turf, tree and landscape installation and maintenance and the very popular hanging flower basket program
