During the February 9, 2021 Special Election, voters overwhelmingly approved annexing the Arlington Fire Department to North County Regional Fire Authority. http://arlingtonwa.gov/672/Regional-Fire-Authority-RFA
The Arlington Fire Department proudly serves the City of Arlington, population of approximately 18,000. We are committed to the saving of lives and preservation of property through efficient and effective operations, prevention activities, public education, and the preparation and management of disasters.
Members of the Fire Department
The Department consists of an:
- Fire Chief
- Deputy Fire Chief - Medical Services Administrator (shared with North County Fire & EMS)
- Assistant Fire Chief - Community Risk Reduction (North County Fire & EMS shares with Arlington Fire)
- Executive Analyst
- 30 career personnel including:
- 6 captains
- 13 Firefighter / EMTs
- 11 Firefighter/Paramedics
- 15 active part-paid firefighters.
2019 Statistics
Arlington Fire Department responded to 5033 calls in 2019. 84% of those were EMS related including ambulance transports and motor vehicle collisions. Please see our Annual Report for further information on our responses in 2019.
Online Fire & Safety Self Inspection for Small Businesses
The Arlington Fire Department offers an online Fire and Life Safety Self Inspection for small businesses. If you previously qualified as a low-hazard occupancy and have completed these notices in the past, you can now go online and submit your form electronically! If you have questions, please call the Fire Business Line.
